We are an Alaska based insulation company. Jim Schuster and his brother Mike started business in 1977 out of an old step van that they converted to an insulation truck with a little electric attic blow machine and lots of energy. The office was a cabin with wood heat and no running water. Three years later we opened a second location in Anchorage. Mike lost the coin toss and had to move to Anchorage. Sixteen year later Mike retired and closed up shop in Anchorage but the Fairbanks/North Pole location is still going strong. We have expanded a lot since the cabin days but we have not strayed from the small town values that we started with back then.
We specialize in all forms of insulation. Blown-in fiberglass insulation, blown-in cellulose insulation, BIB system, mechanical insulation, urethane foam, encapsulated batt insulation, vapor barrier and any thing in between. Our work is split between commercial, new construction, and retro fit on existing houses. Residential or Commercial no job is too big or small for us. We have insulated many jobs from Juneau to Prudhoe Bay. We have the latest training in new products coming out on the market for insulation. All employees are trained to the highest standard before entering any ones home or place of business. We hold a high standard for safety.
We are working closely with the Portal, Alaska Housing Finance Corp. and local Energy Auditors to help make your energy audits go smoothly when it comes to the air sealing & the insulation part of the audit.
